play60The Band Boosters provide manpower for the Carolina Panthers Play60 Combine before each home game during the NFL season. Located at Romare Bearden Park, the Fuel Up to Play 60 Kids Combine is a free, interactive area that promotes 60 minutes of fitness through a variety of football skills and drills for children and their families.  The Band Boosters provide transportation to each event on an activity bus that leaves from the high school prior to each game. shackThe Band Boosters and the Marching Band operate the concession stand at the camp meeting ground site in Denver each summer. Often refereed to as the “Shack”, the concession stand is open each night during the 2 weeks of camp meetings, usually in August. The stand offers a wide range of food items from hamburgers, to ice cream, milkshakes and candy. This is a one of the most significant fundraisers that the boosters coordinate, and many volunteers are needed to run this event run successfully. We enforce our dress code policy with dressing in T-Shirts (Ladies may wear wide strapped tanks-no half shirts or low bearing shirts or tanks-no gentlemen may wear tanks), shorts (not dukes), pants, capris,closed toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals), hats, gloves, no hair on the shoulders of long haired students/parents.        For more information or suggestions on dress codes, or to signup for a night, please contact Mike Costner or sign up in Charms.

Directions to the Shack

From 73/16: Drive N. After Food Lion Westport, go to the 4th stoplight (Stacey’s Restaurant will be on the corner as well as Bank of America), turn right, drive about ½ mile, Turn into the first street to your left; the Shack is the first building on the right

From 150/16: Drive S. to the first stoplight (about 3 mi.) Stacey’s is on the left; turn left. Follow the above directions.

Where to Park

After turning into the campground, try to park in the grass to your LEFT.   Late arrivals may need to follow the street until you find a space in the back. Please do not park in front of the buildings; those spaces are for the camp attendees. NEVER park behind the Shack unless it is to drop off and leave. It is a good idea to bring a FLASHLIGHT for the walk to your car after dark.

The Band Boosters work very hard to make this fundraiser successful for the Band throughout the year. We follow the bi-laws of the campground and always receive excellent ratings all around. Whether you are tent camping, visiting a tent, or just driving by, come see us for dinner on your way home from work, or our “Famous” Milkshakes!

Where to Go

Thanks to one of our band Parents, Chris von Dolen, he has introduced East Lincoln Marching Band to the world of Baseball! Our parents and band students volunteer their time at home games, which we work several food areas at the new BB&T Ballpark Stadium.

The games are at the BB&T Ballpark in uptown Charlotte (324 S Mint St).

Parking is provided for you at the Johnson & Whales Parking deck (116 South Cedar Street). Bring your parking ticket into the game, they will validate it before you leave at night so that you do not have to pay for the parking. There are lots closer but then you have to pay for parking.

Enter the ballpark thru the Graham Street and 4th street entrance; this is also the Left Field Entrance.

Check in table is in section 116, and tell them you are a non-profit to find out which stand you are working in. then get your shirt

Behind home plate section 111 are the concession offices, there is where you pick up your shirt and any other information.

When to Arrive

Report times for either games are:

Stand Managers / Group Leaders – An hour and a half before gates (example:Game @ 7:05PM, Gates will be opening at 5:35PM, Report Time is 4PM)

Line Staff / Group Staff Members – An hour before gates (example: Game @ 7:05PMGates will be opening at 5:35PM, Report Time is 4:30PM)

If anyone needs a ride to a game – Please let someone in the Boosters know, we will help with finding a ride.

What to Bring & Wear

· Khaki or black pants and a solid color t-shirt. (Khaki shorts are ok when it gets very warm)

· Hats are allowed ONLY if it is a solid color,  the Knights logo’s, or an East Lincoln logo. All other hats are not permitted.

· Closed toed shoes with a rubber soles are required. No sandals or flip-flops.

Please Note: If you are not dressed in the appropriate items, our stand has to pay a penalty!! ($25)

Food Items

· Ovations offer workers a 50% discount on food. You have to go to the office and buy “Knights bucks” for half price. So $10 gets you $20 in Knights bucks. Then you can eat anywhere you want. These bucks are do not work for souvenirs, gifts or beer.

Job Assignments

· Adults above the age of 18 will be on register, those under 10 are runners and pickers for the cashiers. The stand leader will chose who is working where.

· Our groups may be working different areas on different games always go to the area behind home plate or check with an OVATIONS manager in a RED shirt if you don’t see any of the East Lincoln crew.

· Beverage policy will be gone over and register training as well.

· When working in any stand, keeping clean is very important. Do not throw out containers, cups, trays, baskets unless you have written them down on a spoilage form. Everything has value and if it tossed away, our group pays for its full value. If in doubt, see a leader or other adult.

The Carolina Classic is the marching band competition held at East Lincoln HS each fall. The competition has a long history of attracting many fine bands from around the region to compete. A tremendous about of manpower is needed to run a marching competition, and we need all the volunteers we can get to help out on this day. Everyone loves a good Fish Fry! Several times each year, the boosters sponsor a Fish Fry to be held at the HS. We always need volunteers to sell tickets prior to the event and a few people to help serve the food on the big day! For more information, or to volunteer, please contact the fundraising chairperson.
